HOW WE WORK

Each of our therapists bring different experience and individual qualities and expertise to their work. Their approach to therapy will reflect their individual training and assessment of how best to meet the needs of their clients. Typically their approach will encompass the integration of several psychotherapeutic theories.
As a centre we are humanistic in our approach to therapy, which deals with a client’s conscious knowledge and experience of themselves. Rather than interpreting unconscious motivations, the person-centred approach values the client’s knowledge and places their point of view at the centre of the work. We strongly believe our clients are their own experts, our role is to support our clients to identify patterns of behaviour and beliefs of themselves, identify what patterns they may want to change, and support them through their journey of self exploration and insight.

Tracey Byrne MIACP

Therapist/Owner/Manager

With over a decades experience as a therapist, working with Gender and Sexual Diversity, Trauma, Sexual Violence, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss. I am person centred in my approach and believe my clients are their own experts, I am here to support and facilitate their growth. I am a seasoned phoneline volunteer and group facilitator for various organisations. As well as working in private practice, I am currently focusing on providing placement for highly skilled and capable trainee therapists, offering them support, while they offer a professional, ethical service for low cost. It is a very exciting project and I look forward to watching it flourish.

Jason Doyle

Senior Trainee Psychotherapist

Armed with a certificate in psychotherapy and counselling and completing my Bsc Psychotherapy Degree, my mission is to foster a safe space. I bring a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical insights to my work, fostering a humanistic, Integrative and Person-Centred approach. I have also completed and continue to focus on professional development courses and work on self-harm and suicide in children, adolescents, and adults.  I have been involved in community-based sexual health outreach programmes, community support lines and group therapy for the past decade. My passion and interests extend to sexual health and working through associated stigma, recognizing the power in overcoming stigma and its integral role in overall well-being. I offer clients an environment that is confidential and free of judgement, dealing with a range of issues such as anger, anxiety, relational issues, identity, shame and self-esteem. Whether you are seeking a supportive space for personal growth, wanting to understand and explore your anxiety, shame, or self-criticism.

Take the First Step Towards Healing
Affordable Therapy Those In Need
“When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations, deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.”

~Carl Rogers.

What does Counselling/Psychotherapy look like?

Counselling / Psychotherapy initially will occur on a weekly basis. You will meet the centre manager for a FREE initial consultation where you will be assessed and matched with a therapist who best matches your individual needs. When you are allocated a therapist can work together to set out a plan that can best meet your individual needs.  Each subsequent session will last 50 minutes and will always occur with the same therapist.

How do I know if I need to attend Counselling?

Our clients often believe that only those with extreme psychological issues can and should see a therapist, but this is not the case. Everyone at one stage or another will experience a difficult period in their lives. Circumstances sometimes allow us to navigate these challenges with relative ease, but just as often we are left struggling to adapt. However, if you are struggling to understand or adapt to life’s challenges, then counselling and or psychotherapy can help.

How long would I expect to be in Therapy?

This very much depends on the individual needs of each of our clients. It can be as little as a few weeks, or span months or even longer. However, the client is always at the centre of any decision in this regard. Your therapist will work closely with you to identify the change you wish to see and then check in regularly to ensure that your needs are being met on a week by week basis.

Is Counselling and Psychotherapy completely confidential?

Counselling and Psychotherapy provides a safe and confidential environment in which to express yourself. All therapists in InSpire Therapy are mandatory reporters, and  work under strict code of ethics that safe guard everything you say within your session. There are a limited number of exceptions to confidentiality that centre on child protection laws and a threat to the safety of client or someone they know. All this will be covered by your therapist and you may ask as many questions about this as you need to feel completely safe. At the heart of everything we do as therapists is the safety of our clients.

What If I need to cancel my appointment?

From time to time we understand that appointments need to be cancelled. We would ask that 24 hours’ notice be provided to your therapist for any cancellation. If you need to cancel please contact the centre manager. We will always try to reschedule an appointment, but this may not always be possible. Please speak to your therapist regarding any queries you may have in this regard.

Is InSpire Therapy a safe space for clients with diversity?

Yes, at InSpire Therapy our ethos is one of inclusivity.  Our aim is to provide a safe space for clients from a diverse group with reference to age, gender, race, sexuality and culture and ability.

I am anxious to begin therapy. Is this common?

This is very common, especially for those clients who are speaking to a psychotherapist for the first time. All our therapists are aware of how difficult it can be to seek help for the first time, or to begin therapy with a new therapist.  Please know that the anxiety you may well be experiencing  is completely natural, everyone has to start at a beginning point. Our therapist are here to help you settle into the process.

How much are the low cost sessions.

Our experienced trainee therapists provide low cost, affordable therapy sessions. Each session costs Thirty euro per fifty minute session.
